What many don't realize is...in the founding of the 1st Church (The Household of Faith) and the 1st School (ICBC, Intercession City Biblical College) in Intercession City is that they were different ministries with the same goals. Their stated purpose or objective was the training and launching of Believers into Ministry, especially MISSIONS.

The Household of Faith MISSIONS had a detailed list of rules that were spelled out in the Discipline of the Household of Faith MISSIONS book, which was first written in 1933, before Miss Osie England, Mr. Clarence Maddy and her team first came to Florida seeking a new home away from the cold, cruel winters of West Virginia.
At that time, Miss Osie and Mr. Clarence Maddy subscribed to the Holiness movement and the 4-Fold Gospel which was highly regarded by many denominations, including the Methodists.
There were some strong rules that were to be followed if you wanted to be a member of the church or be ordained, especially concerning "divorce" that are hardly followed today because the church has more light/understanding in some of these areas.
On the other hand, Miss Osie, Mr. Maddy and their team had the wisdom to make the INTERCESSION CITY BIBLICAL COLLEGE an Interdenominational. Co-educational School in 1939.
They wanted to reach out to all believers of every denomination.
Therefore, you could continue to be a member of another denomination and still attend and graduate from the school.
However, if you wanted to be licensed or ordained by Miss Osie's denomination, you had to become a member and follow the doctrines as set forth in the Discipline of the Household of Faith MISSIONS.

Many times Denominations can cause divisions, getting in the way of "UNITY" instead of promoting it. TJL
